Hang Tu is the Associate Pastor of Worship and Discipleship at HBC Decatur. Hang was born and raised in Vietnam, a country that still persecutes Christians today. In God’s sovereignty, Hang’s parents received Christ in their early teens and committed themselves to serving God. Because of this, Hang and his sister Rachel heard the gospel in childhood and responded with faith.
In 1991, Hang’s entire family moved to the United States, where the family experienced many challenges. By the grace of God, Hang earned his Bachelor's Degree in English Secondary Education from Widener University in 2000. In 2005, he also received a Master of Divinity from the Moody Bible Institute.
In 2008, Hang married to Kanade Maejima. They have since been blessed with a son, Seiji Isaiah. Hang’s passion is God. He is the most AWESOME, un-boring and magnificent warrior there is. Hang enjoys being with his family, snowboarding, eating, and praising God through various instruments.
