Questions from the Sermon
Read the passage, Hebrews 10:19-25. What stands out to you from
the text and why does it stand out?
What does it mean to draw near? What does it mean to have “our
hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscious and our bodies
washed with pure water?”
What does it mean to “hold fast” to the confession of our hope?
How is this a battle for the mind?
Why are we challenged to “stir up” or “spur on” one another
toward love and good deeds? What does: “not neglecting to meet
together” mean? Why does the author warn us about this?
How do these three things help us fight the temptation to quit?
Application Questions
In what ways do you practice drawing near to God? What often
stops you? How do you stop you from drawing near?
What are some ways you are tempted with “nongospel” thoughts?
What scriptures can help you fight in these moments?
How have you been spurred on to love and good deeds? Who can
you spur on this week?
How has the priority of church been challenged in your life?
